Something Borrowed

By far, 'Something Borrowed' is not an Oscar worthy masterpiece. But as far as chick flicks are concerned, this one was very enjoyable. Unlike many movies I've seen with a similar storyline, this one focuses not only on the present but also on the past. In fact, if you're able to see past the shallow plot, you'll find that there are some actual thought provoking ideas behind 'Something Borrowed'. The movie deals with choosing between what's morally right and what's right for one's happiness. Various characters seem to dwell on the past, and it therefore also addresses people's inability to forgive themselves for past mistakes. Personally, I could really relate to some the issues the character's faced, such as Ginnifer Goodwin's regret over making the wrong choices which therefore altered her life. The movie often veers from being a typical Chick Flick to a Drama, and some scenes brought a little tear to my eye. The acting was excellent, the actors performances very convincing, and some scenes (such as flashbacks) were very well directed. Admittedly, there was some back and forth within the story, and some scenes were added purely for reaction- but overall, this, to me, was a great flick for a rainy Saturday afternoon.

Nevertheless, I surprisingly never lost interest, something I was kind of expecting, because I\'ve been keeping up with this movie for almost a year now. It held me to the very end, and I never got bored with it. Putting the movie up against the original, it failed. But putting it up against the entire Nightmare franchise, I\'d say it was better than all the sequels. A very worthy entry, a great popcorn movie, and a great comeback to an icon who hasn\'t had a movie completely to himself in 16 years. I\'ll definitely buy it when it comes out. Putting it in the context of remakes/reboots, I\'d say it was above RZ\'s Halloween II, Stepfather, Friday The 13th, Texas Chainsaw, and The Wolfman, but lower than Hills Have Eyes and Last House On The Left.$

The Back-up Plan (20

$Watch The Back-up Plan M4ufree-Zoe\'s a woman who has a hard time letting anyone into her life. She has a habit of pushing people away when they get close. She also wants to have a baby but because she has no man in her life decides to be artificially inseminated. Shortly after having the procedure she meets a guy named Stan whom she connects with. But she\'s still afraid to let him in and when she tells him about her pregnancy thinking he would bail but he sticks with her. This is a great movie to see with friends, family or a date. It does not disappoint. The funny parts are well acted as are the few moments of serious dialog. I often walk out of a theater feeling like that was an hour and a half of my life I will never get back. Too many crappy endings and just drawn out movies. It\'s a let down to see serious faces as after a comedy is over. This is a fantastic upbeat, funny movie that will have you smiling as you walk out of the theater. Be sure to hang around a minute after it\'s over so you can see the hilarious out-takes. Jennifer Lopez is picky when it comes to the projects she chooses. I know if she is in it than it\'s going to be good. It is a pleasure to see Alex O\'Loughlin in the role of the charming and attractive all around \$

Also, I thought Janet Jackson\'s acting was incredible! Tasha smith made me laugh as always, I liked the character \'Angela\' in this one better than in the last one, the character just seemed a bit too over the top (she is in this one but I think it\'s more understandable from my point of view) I\'m surprised people don\'t like the film, I\'d definitely recommend it to others!$

I liked this movie more than Mr. & Mrs. Smith which contained pointless shooting and so on. Go to see this movie if You want to have good heart-warming feeling all day long and for entire week. Just turn off Your brain and enjoy pure sweet entertainment in romantic sauce.$
