): The Marriage Counselor is a 2008 play directed by, written by, and produced by American playwright Tyler Perry. 'The Marriage Counselor' is the 10th play by Perry. Roger Jackson is an accountant by profession. He takes care of not only his wife, Judith, but his father, Floyd, and Judith's mother, T.T., who were both displaced by Hurricane Katrina. The two parents do not get along and bicker constantly. Judith is an Ivy League-educated marriage counselor who gives marital advice everyday, yet seems to find difficulty assessing the issues with her own marriage. An old flame from college entices Judith to leave her husband, her parents, her home and her practice. Through a series of unpredictable events, she finds that her new life may not be as wonderful as she thought it would be. Her cleaner her practice hands in her notice and tells her that she has HIV. In disbelief she asks her how she contracted it and soon finds out that it was from her ex-husband who did drugs and was a womaniser. Unknowingly Judith leaves her life slowly step by step just as her husband is trying to improve their relationship and add passion. One day he decides to surprise her at her practice which she has now forgotten about. On break, Pete waits in line at a nearby donut shop. When Pete corrects a little boy who excitedly mistakes him for a cop, the little boy\'s shoulders drop in disappointment. How can adults, teenagers, or even children respect a security guard when he swaps shifts with a 65 year old woman? Pete\'s day takes a turn for the better when strangely, a beautiful, mysterious woman takes notice of him and strikes up a flirtatious conversation, eying his badges and well ironed uniform. Pete doesn\'t exactly say he IS a cop, but he doesn\'t exactly admit he ISN\'T either. Things seem to be going Pete\'s way, when the doors to the donut shop kick open and the worst day of all time waltzes in, brandishing hellfire spittin\' guns and the attitude to match. As tension mounts, the whole donut shop looks to Pete to save them. Pete has to go along with being a \'cop\' or risk losing the girl, but who is he to save the day either? And if a cop-like-badge doesn\'t make it Pete\'s responsibility to do something, who\'s responsibility is it? Terror will reign. Love will be tested. And one man will rise, a donut shop hero.$

Meanwhile, county prosecutor Burt Rainey knows that the Klan committed the murder, everyone in town is aware that the Klan committed the murder, but Rainey knows that no one will come forward to implicate the Klan for what they see is the good of the town. He is also aware that Marsha would have been in the area when the murder was committed and wants to talk to her and hope that being an outsider will allow her to speak freely if she did indeed see anything. Marsha has to decide what to say to Rainey specifically taking into account how best to protect her and Lucy\'s welfare, which includes the fact that Lucy is pregnant with Hank\'s baby.$
